Da Nang
Modern coastal city with beautiful beaches, the Golden Bridge, and gateway to Central Vietnam.
About Da Nang
Da Nang is Vietnam's most livable city: a gleaming coastal metropolis where skyscrapers rise behind kilometers of white-sand beach, and the Han River is spanned by bridges that breathe fire and twist like a dragon. Once a strategic military port, today Da Nang is the country's tech and tourism hub — clean, modern, and unexpectedly cosmopolitan. The beachfront promenade rivals any in Southeast Asia, with seafood restaurants, beach clubs, and the iconic pink-domed Danang Cathedral. But the city's true showstopper sits 1,400 meters above sea level in the Ba Na Hills: the Golden Bridge, two giant stone hands cradling a golden walkway through the clouds. At sunset, the Dragon Bridge unleashes real flames and water from its mouth, drawing thousands to the riverbanks. Da Nang is also the perfect base: Hoi An is 30 minutes south, Hue's imperial glory lies two hours north, and the Marble Mountains rise directly from the city's southern edge with caves, pagodas, and panoramic views. This is a city that surprises, delights, and keeps you reaching for your camera.
Best Time to Visit
